2011 Interior Design Trends
Well, what’s new for 2011? In metals, it’s gold! It is popping up all over the place. Not your shiny 1990′s gold. Brushed gold. I am using it in lamps, chandeliers and finding it in beautiful accessories. I am also loving it with black. What could be more fabulous than Ralph Lauren’s store in New York? It’s all done in traditional black and white, my personal favorite. I guarantee you will be seeing a lot of black and white this year, with bold lines. People are ready for a bit more drama in their homes and are ready for the wow factor. Try doing a room in black and white and adding an intense color (like the new honeysuckle or green) and you will get star power. Start off this year with lots of excitement making our homes a wonderful...
Color and Design Trends
After getting all your emails about the new color for 2011, I thought I would tell you it’s true and confirmed with Pantone the color is Honeysuckle!! A beautiful coral red with a touch of pink in it. This color looks so great in fashion as well as accessories for your home. Looking forward to spring!! A Color for All Seasons Courageous. Confident. Vital. A brave new color, for a brave new world. Let the bold spirit of Honeysuckle infuse you, lift you and carry you through the year. It’s a color for every day – with nothing “everyday” about it. While the 2010 color of the year, PANTONE 15-5519 Turquoise, served as an escape for many, Honeysuckle emboldens us to face everyday troubles with verve and vigor. A dynamic reddish pink, Honeysuckle is...
Mad Men Lamps

The set designer really nailed 60′s design. It almost makes me want to go back and know what it would be like to live in that era. Except, I would have to be the boss of the ad agency. Ha ha!
2010 Interior Design Trends
I am excited to let you know about some of the latest trends. I feel one of the biggest ways to age yourself is to have an outdated home. In other words, not keeping up with trends and styles over time is a quick way to make you look older than you are, and we don’t want that, now do we? The stylish trends of fashion and home relate so much to each other. When you walk into a home that’s not current and looks dated, how do you feel? I am not saying that we have to replace our furniture as often as we buy new jeans, but easy and fun accessories can go a long way to help you stay current. Some easy areas to address are to update old lamp shades or unsightly drapes. That being said, wallpaper is still very hot. As I sit here writing this, I’m watching my...
